Welcome to Eat the City!

I’ve been wanting to get this blog together for quite some time now. We’ll its finally here and I couldn’t be happier. Eat the City is about the local and sustainable food culture that is growing in and around New York City. We may not live on farms or even in the countryside, but we won’t let that stop us from creating a healthy and sustainable food system. The Northeast has a special history of diverse family farms and we are here to support them by savoring everything they bring to market. Food is something too beautiful and important to grow under ‘conventional’ pesticide-heavy conditions. With only so much room in our stomachs, there’s no reason to waste precious space on food impostors. Let’s eat the real stuff!

In addition to the region’s farmers, there are gardeners and beekeepers and food-lover events aplenty in this city that we hope to keep our eyes on as well.

Stay tuned for some tasty happenings…
